[20th April 2009] Summer is almost upon us and the queen of couture cakes, Peggy Porschen, has chosen the new season as inspiration for a series of special masterclasses in the delicate art of sugarcraft.
Fashion is at the fore as cakemaker-to-the-stars Peggy shows how to make and decorate couture cookies in the shape of summer clothes, shoes and saucy lingerie in the first of three special events this May.
And the influence is strictly floral as the masterclasses continue, with Peggy revealing the techniques required to create her exquisite floral fondant fancies and miniature tea rose cakes, both hot favourites for summer weddings and garden parties this year.
Whether you’re planning a wedding, summer party or are simply a fan of Peggy’s books Romantic Cakes and Pretty Party Cakes, these masterclasses are the ideal opportunity to learn new skills from one of Britain’s most sought-after confectionery artists.
The masterclasses are being held on three consecutive days, giving you the chance to choose when to join Peggy in her Battersea Village studio.
- Masterclass one: Thursday 7 May: Couture Cookies
- Masterclass two: Friday, 8 May: Floral Fondant Fancies
- Masterclass three: Saturday 9 May: Miniature Tea Rose Cakes
All masterclasses are full-day events and cost £195 per day. Visit the online shop at www.peggyporschen.com or call 020 7738 1339 for more details.
